Short video I shot and produced to accompany a long-form feature on the aftermath of palm oil conflict in Central Kalimantan that killed a 35-year-old farmer. Shot on iPhone using its native camera app.

For Project Multatuli.

Choked by the Burning Coal

This is an account from a resident who lives near the Indramayu Coal Power Plant I that I shot during my reporting for China Dialogue. Full story and other videos will be published by China Dialogue very soonish, possibly early 2021.

Scavengers: Inside the Largest Landfill Bantar Gebang

Established in 1986, the open dumping system has created mountains of trash as high as 40 meters. Bantar Gebang is predicted to overload in 2021.

It attracts thousands of scavengers from across the country, simply because it provides source of income where unemployment is rather high. One of the scavengers is a 40-year old man named Ranto, who migrated from Cirebon, West Java to Bantar Gebang in the 1990s.

I shot this video while reporting on the medical waste story.

This video was supported by the Pulitzer Center for Mongabay.

First video I ever produced, shot, and edited. Shot mostly with smartphone. An experiment of mobile journalism.
